Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land Review:

Since this game, Atelier Yumia, is my second game within the overall Atelier series that I have played and experienced, I already really liked and was pretty interested in this series from having played Atelier Ryza, and with now having also played Atelier Yumia I can foremost say that it managed to make me appreciate and like this series even more. While I have so far only played two games of this series, I think there's something really special about these games that makes them so great and quite unique. Through my playthrough of Atelier Yumia I personally really enjoyed the game, and I think there are absolutely some really nice elements about it, like the whole alchemy system, the exploration and gathering of different ingredients, and the charming characters of the game, that make this game really enjoyable and through its different gameplay mechanics and systems, that offer an interesting depth of complexity and a variety of different options, a pretty interesting experience.

As for one of the more prominent systems of the Atelier series, the alchemy system is once again really interesting and through its depth offers a variety of options. Learning different recipes and gathering all kinds of different ingredients throughout the game is so much fun, and I really like the system they created for the game. Personally I just really love how you can through these systems of the game create some really powerful tools, and I totally like all the different options the game offers to you through its mechanics. It's really fun to use this system and creating all different kinds of items with it is just really nice. This whole alchemy system is most definitely an aspect that makes the Atelier series rather unique and I personally really like and appreciate this whole gameplay system. I think it adds an interesting layer of depth to the game, and experimenting with it and crafting powerful tools is really enjoyable. One other mechanic I really liked about Atelier Yumia is the ability to build houses. The whole building options are pretty cool and I think they are a pretty nice and rather interesting addition to the overall game. Oh and I absolutely love the motorcycle, it's really awesome to drive through the world of the game with it. It makes exploring the whole world even more fun and it's in general just pretty cool to later in the game have the option to drive with a motorcycle.

Relatively important for a game like this are most definitely also the characters, and as for them I can say that I quite liked the characters and the general cast of this game. Especially Yumia is a great protagonist and I really like her whole personality. She's a pretty interesting character, and most of the different moments with all the other main characters are pretty nice and Yumia in general is pretty cut, I really like her. I always appreciate seeing female protagonists, and Yumia is absolutely another great female protagonist who I very much like. As for the other characters I found them to be quite good as well, and pretty much enjoyed all the different moments with them throughout the game. So while I wouldn't say that most of the characters are anything too outstanding I think they are still pretty good and overall quite charming and fitting for the game and its overall setting. As such I quite liked them, and in addition to that the overall story of the game was also pretty interesting and in my opinion fairly engaging. There were some overall nice moments throughout the game, and I quite enjoyed experiencing the story of the game with its characters.

Along with that the music is fairly nice, and I quite liked the overall soundtrack. There were some pretty decent tracks that I really liked and I especially really love all of the vocal songs that are included in the game. Specifically the opening and ending songs are great, and I really enjoyed listening to them. The opening of the game with its opening song is really great as well, and I think they've done a pretty good job with it. When starting the game it's always nice to see it and when watching I'd say that it quite managed to pull me into the whole world and setting of the game. In general I quite like the whole style of the game and found it to be quite appealing. In addition to that some of the cutscenes that are featured throughout the game are really nice and the quality of some of them is fantastic too, there were some really good scenes throughout the game. What I aside from that quite appreciate about Atelier Yumia are also most definitely the different title screens throughout the game. Those are quite charming, and I always appreciate such things. Opening the game and having a different title screen depending on the progress within the game is just really nice and gives you an additional sense of progress.

While it might not be a perfect game and it certainly still has some problems in certain areas, I personally overall absolutely enjoyed Atelier Yumia and I'd say that I had a pretty great time with it throughout most of my playthrough of it. It's a really charming game, and I think there is certainly a lot to like about it. Whether it is the alchemy system with all the different options it has to offer, the overall quite charming characters of the game, or the exploration of the world and gathering of all different kinds of ingredients the game has to offer, I think there are absolutely many pretty nice aspects about this game. Through my time with Atelier Yumia I'm also definitely even more excited to go back and try out the other games in the overall Atelier series. Especially Atelier Ryza 2 and 3 are games that I absolutely still want to play after I already experienced the first Atelier Ryza game, and through experiencing Atelier Yumia I absolutely want even more to experience them sometime in the future. This series is from what I have played so far really great and I definitely want to experience more of it.
